The new Foxit PDF Reader Forcibly Installs Ask Toolbar

Friday, February 27, 2009

Foxit PDF Reader is a light weight PDF viewer and reasonably faster than Adobe PDF Reader. Many people (me also) have already switched to that. Recently I learn it that the latest version comes bundled with Ask Toolbar and forcibly (without our permission) install it on our system. I verified this and even unchecking the toolbar option does not prevent the installation.

Uninstalling the Foxit Reader (adware?) will not help you to uninstall the toolbar; you can only disable it from the browser. So, beware while installing this new version (v.3.0).
