Pristy Utils 2009 is a pack of applications which helps you manages your computer and improves its performance.

Tools such as fully customizable System Power button, Vista Booster to optimize and speed up system, File Vieout to delete obsolete and unnecessary files, PC Detect to seek LCD dead pixel, Memory cleaner etc are quite useful.

This freeware supports Windows XP and Vista and have the following main programs included.

System PowerDown: Complete scheduler for computer Power down, Reboot, Sleep, Log off, Lock desktop, Timer Presets and with custom options.

PC Detector: Computer hardware lookup, sound tests, LCD Death Pixel seek and collecting data. Check your PC system components what are they and how fast they are running.

Vista Booster: Optimization settings, CPU L2 setup, Boot defrag, Fonts repair, Install Opera browser Block Content and more.This application optimize and speedup system.

Memory Cleaner: System RAM cleaning and reclaiming. With this application you can clean your RAM.

File Wipeout: Permanently erasing for unused important files and delete temporary files.With this application you permanently erase important files if you don't need them any more.

Web Assistant; Organized links for multi-tab supported web browsing with integrated search engines.With this application you can get more from web browsing without any random clicking.

Desktop Clock: Supported as classic floating app and gadget.The last application is floating desktop clock with detailed information about current time, date and CPU speed.

Disable automatic Meta refresh/redirect of websites in browser for security reasons[how to]

Generally speaking, Meta refresh is a method used by some websites to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh/redirect the current web page after a given time interval. You can see this type of refresh/redirect especially in media sites. This is some times annoying or can be used for malicious purposes by redirecting you to a malicious site. If you don’t like this feature, you can disable this in your browser. Here is how to disable this in Internet Explore/Chrome, Firefox and Opera. Internet Explorer: Go to Tools - Internet options - Security tab - Custom Level button - Miscellaneous category - set "Allow Meta refresh" to Disable. Firefox: Go to Tools - Options - Advanced - General - Accessibility and tick the option next to ‘Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page’. Alternatively you can use extension RefreshBlocker . Opera: Go to Preferences - Advanced - Network and uncheck "Enable automatic redirection".
