How to disable Windows update notification message of NOD32 Antivirus?

If you are an ESET Node32 antivirus or ESET Smart security (v 4.0) user probably you have got the message ‘Maximum protection may not be ensured" and "Operating system is not up to date’ especially if you disabled automatic update of your OS (in order to prevent any possible update issues). If you find this message is annoying you can simply disable or modify this.

By default, ESET security product notifies you when there are updates available for your operating system. You can modify or disable these notifications.

Follow the steps described below to disable OS update notification:
1. Open ESET Node32 antivirus or ESET Smart security.
2. Press F5 key to open advanced setup.
3. From the Advanced Setup click Tools - System updates
4. From the drop-down menu select your preferred notification setting (e.g. no update) and click OK to save the settings.

To get back the Maximum Protection status (green icon), click Protection status from the main menu and then click ‘here’ in the Operating system is not up to date message. Click Run system update and then either update your OS or close the window. (Via)

An interesting part of this situation is that, even after removing the malware or formatting the USB flash drive, you will not get back its original capacity. Therefore, the question here is how to restore a USB flash drive to its full capacity.

Disable automatic Meta refresh/redirect of websites in browser for security reasons[how to]

Generally speaking, Meta refresh is a method used by some websites to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh/redirect the current web page after a given time interval. You can see this type of refresh/redirect especially in media sites. This is some times annoying or can be used for malicious purposes by redirecting you to a malicious site. If you don’t like this feature, you can disable this in your browser. Here is how to disable this in Internet Explore/Chrome, Firefox and Opera. Internet Explorer: Go to Tools - Internet options - Security tab - Custom Level button - Miscellaneous category - set "Allow Meta refresh" to Disable. Firefox: Go to Tools - Options - Advanced - General - Accessibility and tick the option next to ‘Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page’. Alternatively you can use extension RefreshBlocker . Opera: Go to Preferences - Advanced - Network and uncheck "Enable automatic redirection".
