Quickly search selected text on any search engine

Search Selectable Search Tool is a little utility for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, which lets you search highlighted text on any search engine with a shortcut key. No more having to copy the text, open a web browser, go to Google (or similar), paste text into search box, and hit enter.

Just select some text from a document or a web page , press CTRL + SHIFT + C. Then watch your favorite search engine show you results within seconds. Switch search engines with a click of a mouse (right click on the tray icon and select a search engine).

Currently included engines are: All The Web, Alta Vista, AOL, ASK, Bing ,Blog Search, Google, Lycos, MSN and Yahoo.

However, the program open search results in Internet Explorer only. There is no option to change this. This is the main drawback of this tool. You can download the tool from here. [Similar program]

Disable automatic Meta refresh/redirect of websites in browser for security reasons[how to]

Generally speaking, Meta refresh is a method used by some websites to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh/redirect the current web page after a given time interval. You can see this type of refresh/redirect especially in media sites. This is some times annoying or can be used for malicious purposes by redirecting you to a malicious site. If you don’t like this feature, you can disable this in your browser. Here is how to disable this in Internet Explore/Chrome, Firefox and Opera.
