Spam Blocker for Google Search

There are several spam sites that appears top in our search results to provide improper contents, dishonest information and other illegal things. For an average user, it is very difficult to differentiate between the required data. So the question is, how do we keep away from these spam sites? The Chrome extension ‘Spam Blocker for Google search’ helps you do a little by blocking spam site.

This extension adds a 'spam' link next to all Google search results and allows you to block websites that you consider to be spam just by clicking it. However, you should verify the site (whether it is a real spam site) before black listed.
 Blocked websites will no longer appear in your Google search results. Additionally, the extension has a text field that allows you to add any domain (or part of a domain) to your block list.

  1. Actually, I NEVER use Google AT ALL because of their collaboration with our government to track people. I use ixquick (www.ixquick.com), WHICH DOES NOT save any information on you, such as your IP address. WHY WOULD ANYONE USE GOOGLE ANYWAYS?

Disable automatic Meta refresh/redirect of websites in browser for security reasons[how to]

Generally speaking, Meta refresh is a method used by some websites to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh/redirect the current web page after a given time interval. You can see this type of refresh/redirect especially in media sites. This is some times annoying or can be used for malicious purposes by redirecting you to a malicious site. If you don’t like this feature, you can disable this in your browser. Here is how to disable this in Internet Explore/Chrome, Firefox and Opera. Internet Explorer: Go to Tools - Internet options - Security tab - Custom Level button - Miscellaneous category - set "Allow Meta refresh" to Disable. Firefox: Go to Tools - Options - Advanced - General - Accessibility and tick the option next to ‘Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page’. Alternatively you can use extension RefreshBlocker . Opera: Go to Preferences - Advanced - Network and uncheck "Enable automatic redirection".
