Add Hotmail as Default Mailto Service in Firefox

Firefox has an in-built capability to set Gmail or Yahoo! Mail as the default mailto service. When you click on a mailto: link, it will open Gmail or Yahoo mail, but if you’re a Hotmail user and want to make it as your default mailto service in Firefox, here is how to.

1. This tutorial is very simple and tested on latest Firefox build Run your Firefox and type about:config in the address bar and hit Enter button and accept the warning "I'll be careful, I promise!".

2. In the filter field type gecko and double click the entry gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost to change the value to true.

 3. Now, copy and paste the following text into the address bar of Firefox and hit enter:
