Windows service monitor is a system tray application that helps you monitor and control any Windows services from the system tray. Moreover, the tray icon has different colors based on the status of monitored services (green - all services are started, yellow – some stopped, grey – all services stopped). The application is useful to monitor certain services (e.g sqlserver) and instantly stop or start them when needed.
For those who are not familiar with Windows service, they are background process (owned by windows and third party programs) and enables Windows to perform specific actions such as launching programs, detection of plug and play devices, monitoring network resources, etc.
Windows Service Monitor is the simplified version of Windows services.msc, and easy to use. After installation, just right click on its tray icon and choose ‘Configuration’ option.
From the right pane of the program window, you can add services that you want to monitor to the right-pane.
