What is New With Advanced SystemCare v6 Beta

IObit just released first beta version of its popular system tweaking and PC care utility Advanced SystemCare v6. This new version has a brand new, simplified user interface and offers a range of PC care maintenance services in a convenient one- click solution to fix PC problems, clear out clutter, boost network performance, and speed up Windows. It works on both 32bit and 64bit systems.

The installation of Advanced SystemCare v6 (beta) is just a cakewalk. When you install the program, it will also install a Web Surfing Protection browser add-on for Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, the installer doesn’t offer an option to skip the add-on installation, which is a big disappointment, however, you can disable it from program’s main window.

When you first run the tool, you will notice a new, simple to use interface with two switchable modes - simple mode and expert mode, which is designed for both inexperienced and tech-savvy users. On both modes, all items are selectable. From expert mode, users can choose various tools to maintain their system.

Below are lists of key feature of Advanced SystemCare v6 beta.

  • Brand new user interface is more simple and easier to use.
  • Range of PC-Care services in a convenient one-click solution.
  • New Web Surfing Protection allows for online security and creates a safer online environment by detecting risky websites and other e-threats from harming your PC.
  • New performance monitoring technology monitors your PC in real-time, allowing your programs to launch faster.
  • Next generation technology for much lighter installation package.
  • Powerful functions to protect your PC from hidden security threats
  • New internet boost technology for faster and smoother online experience.
  • The next generation disk defragment engine makes scanning and optimizing your hard disk much faster.
  • More secure, stable, smart and reliable performance during system cleaning and optimization gives you peace of mind for an always-on, automated, and all-In-one PC healthcare service.
  • Improved active optimization function intelligently manages system resources for smarter real-time optimization.
Please remember that, this is a beta version, so don’t use in a working environment. I just installed it and it works pretty well without any bigger issue. However, the missing option for disabling Web Surfing Protection add-on is a big disappointment, and I am expecting an option in the final version. You can download it from here.

An interesting part of this situation is that, even after removing the malware or formatting the USB flash drive, you will not get back its original capacity. Therefore, the question here is how to restore a USB flash drive to its full capacity.

Disable automatic Meta refresh/redirect of websites in browser for security reasons[how to]

Generally speaking, Meta refresh is a method used by some websites to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh/redirect the current web page after a given time interval. You can see this type of refresh/redirect especially in media sites. This is some times annoying or can be used for malicious purposes by redirecting you to a malicious site. If you don’t like this feature, you can disable this in your browser. Here is how to disable this in Internet Explore/Chrome, Firefox and Opera. Internet Explorer: Go to Tools - Internet options - Security tab - Custom Level button - Miscellaneous category - set "Allow Meta refresh" to Disable. Firefox: Go to Tools - Options - Advanced - General - Accessibility and tick the option next to ‘Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page’. Alternatively you can use extension RefreshBlocker . Opera: Go to Preferences - Advanced - Network and uncheck "Enable automatic redirection".
