Firefox 151: Free VPN Location Selection, Mobile AI Features, and One-Click Private Session Clearing

Mozilla just dropped Firefox version 151 with some solid updates for desktop and mobile devices. You can now pick which country's VPN location you want to use for free, get more AI features on your phone, and an option to clear your private browsing session with a single click.

What is New in Firefox Browser v.151

Firefox version 151 starts rolling out. Below are some of the best features of this update.

Option to Choose VPN Location

Firefox's free built-in VPN now lets you choose where your traffic routes through. You've got options in the US, UK, France, Germany, and Canada. By default, it picks the closest spot to you, but you can switch anytime. Keep in mind that you'll still follow the laws and content rules of whichever region you pick.

Mozilla's already planning to add more locations down the road. And get this - over a million people have signed up for the free VPN since it launched about two months ago.

More AI Features on Your Phone

Mozilla's bringing those AI controls to iOS and Android now (they rolled them out on desktop earlier this year). What you get depends on your device and where you're located, but it includes things like translations, voice search, and Shake to Summarize.

Shake to Summarize does exactly what it sounds like - shake your phone and get a quick summary of the page you're reading. On Android, it's in English for now, with more languages coming later. iOS users can use it in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Japanese.

Clear Private Sessions in One Click

There's a new flame icon next to the address bar when you're in Private Browsing mode. Hit it and everything from that session - cookies, history, logins, all of it - gets wiped out instantly, and you jump into a fresh session. No need to close and reopen the browser.

Other Features in Firefox Nightly Build

Firefox is also testing a redesigned settings page in Nightly that's easier to navigate and better organized. Your current settings won't change, and there's a new search feature so you can actually find what you're looking for. The feature will roll out to everyone gradually after Nightly users get it first.

You can grab Firefox 151 now through the regular update or straight from Mozilla's site.

Conclusion

Firefox 151 is available now as a free download, bringing powerful privacy and productivity features to both desktop and mobile users. Whether you're looking to control your VPN routing, access AI-powered tools on the go, or simplify your private browsing cleanup, this update delivers meaningful improvements that put more control in your hands.
