How to repair damaged word documents?

Some days back one of my friends college project work was accidentally deleted from USB pen drive. I recovered it using recovery software, but the document became corrupted and unable to open it. As it is a big project, I made a search on the net and find a free tool for repairing damaged word document called Repair My Word. Even though it is unsuccessful in recovering the whole document, it decently recovered most of the parts, so he can complete it with out much effort.

Repair My Word is a data recovery program for Microsoft Word documents. It is designed to recover text from damaged or corrupt Word files (.doc files) that will not open normally. The recovered text can then be saved as an error free Microsoft Word document. It will repair Microsoft Word 6.0, Word 95, 97, 2000, XP, and 2003 for Windows.

Repair My Word is simple to use. Download (1.5Mb, v1.1) and run it (no installation required). Open the corrupt Word file; preview the recoverable text in the preview window and save this text to a new error free Word file. That’s all.
