Mozilla Firefox (3.0.9) portable edition

Installing and uninstalling multiple programs can make your computer sluggish. Here comes the importance of portable applications, they can be run directly from a USB stick. Unlike usual programs, they leave no personal information behind on the machine you run it on. All the settings, configurations and registry entries are stored on the USB sticks. Portable Firefox is a fully functional package of Firefox browser, designed to run from a USB sticks.

This is an unofficial build of Firefox browser (the official build of Mozilla Firefox modified and bundles with a PortableApps launcher, you can take your bookmarks, extensions and saved passwords with you) that is designed to run from removable devices such as USB sticks, CDRW, MP3 players, etc.

To install Firefox Portable, just download the portable package from Portable app.com, and then double-click it. Select the location (USB device) you wish to install to and click OK. It will create a Firefox Portable directory on your drive and all the necessary files. Click on the Firefox Portable.exe file from this directory to run the program. Make sure to close locally installed Firefox browser before running the portable Firefox.

Disable automatic Meta refresh/redirect of websites in browser for security reasons[how to]

Generally speaking, Meta refresh is a method used by some websites to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh/redirect the current web page after a given time interval. You can see this type of refresh/redirect especially in media sites. This is some times annoying or can be used for malicious purposes by redirecting you to a malicious site.
