How to backup your Avira Antivir 9 updates for reuse

Avira AntiVir is known to be one of the best security programs available (Free/ commercial versions) on the market today. This full fledged security program has best detection rates with several updates every day (see AV Camparatives.org May 2009 result here) and reliably protects you from today’s soaring internet crimes. It scans and eliminates all threats - viruses, worms, Trojans, rootkits, phishing, adware, spyware, bots and dangerous drive-by downloads from your PC

However, in certain situations, you may want to reinstall your Avira anti-virus program or your operating system. So you need to update your Avira antivirus from the beginning (or needed to download the updated version). In that case here is a small but useful tool that will help you backup your Avira (v. 9) updates.Just download and run the Avira Update Generator (portable, no installation required). It will automatically select the Avira update location. Click on ‘Generate Update’ button,
it will save the updates (ivdf_fusebundle_nt_en.zip) on your desktop. Save this file on a USB stick or another location.

How to update your Avira anti-virus offline?

1. After reinstalling Avira antivirus, run it.
2. Click on Update and select Manual updates from the program window.
3. Now choose ivdf file that you saved previously for updating (ivdf_fusebundle_nt_en.zip). That’s all.
