However one thing I dislike with this software is its interface. It looks like a media player and unpleasant (at least for me). Of course its interface is skinnable, but, unfortunately most skins are like the same media player style and also I don’t like a skinnable antivirus program.
However this is not the case with the upcoming version of Avast 5. It has a beautiful, user-friendly interface.

Here is a small trick to have a simple interface to Avast antivirus version 4.8. You can achieve this by just disabling the skin.

To do this, just go into Avast's Settings (see above screenshot) and under 'Common' uncheck 'Enable skins for simple user interface'. (Below is the new interface)That’s all. (Via)
