Enable Google Instant in Opera

Google Instant is a new search enhancement tool from the technology giant Google, which is designed to speed up your search. It searches the Web as you type (not after you type) and Google claims that, this new feature will greatly reduce the time spent on search.

Ok, whatever will be that, this feature only works in latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, IE8 and Safari (Mac). For Opera users, here is a workaround to enable Google Instant.

Visit www. google.com in Opera browser. Note that, currently Google Instant is available in US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia, if you are on other countries click this http://www.google.com/webhp?sclient=psy link in Opera.

Then, right click anywhere on the page and select "Edit Site Preferences". Go to the "Network" tab and choose "Identify as Firefox" from the drop down list on the bottom. Click OK to save. [Via]

  1. Thanks for the workaround to let me use Opera for Google Instant.

I wonder how long the blogosphere will give Google a pass about using their market power to destroy Opera and fool people into thinking that it's the browser and not them intentionally blocking Opera users from Google's latest features?

Therefore, the question here is how to restore a USB flash drive to its full capacity.

Disable automatic Meta refresh/redirect of websites in browser for security reasons[how to]

Generally speaking, Meta refresh is a method used by some websites to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh/redirect the current web page after a given time interval. You can see this type of refresh/redirect especially in media sites. This is some times annoying or can be used for malicious purposes by redirecting you to a malicious site. If you don’t like this feature, you can disable this in your browser. Here is how to disable this in Internet Explore/Chrome, Firefox and Opera. Internet Explorer: Go to Tools - Internet options - Security tab - Custom Level button - Miscellaneous category - set "Allow Meta refresh" to Disable. Firefox: Go to Tools - Options - Advanced - General - Accessibility and tick the option next to ‘Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page’. Alternatively you can use extension RefreshBlocker . Opera: Go to Preferences - Advanced - Network and uncheck "Enable automatic redirection".
