Avast Antivirus 6 and Windows 7 BSOD (Solved)

Recently I have installed the new Avast antivirus 6 free version on my Windows 7 PC after uninstalling the old antivirus software. Thereupon, I have been getting BSOD (blue screen of death) at start up, and sometimes when running a program. I have investigated the reason and found that Avast is the culprit. But I solved this issue very quickly.

Here is what I have done to solve the issue. Perhaps, the following tips will also help you.
  1. First, I Uninstalled the Avast 6 via Windows Add/Remove program and then removed its leftovers by using the official uninstaller tool for Avast (you can download it here).
  2. Then I downloaded an uninstaller utility for my old antivirus software (in my case it is Nod 32) and removed the leftovers (you can find an uninstaller utility for your old antivirus program at here).
  3. Finally, I downloaded the latest Avast antivirus 6 (download it here) and installed it on my Win 7 PC. Now there is no BSOD.

    Thanks man,i just downloaded avast 5,and scan it,then remove some errors,and it finnaly solve my bsod error,tnx again!

Disable automatic Meta refresh/redirect of websites in browser for security reasons[how to]

Generally speaking, Meta refresh is a method used by some websites to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh/redirect the current web page after a given time interval. You can see this type of refresh/redirect especially in media sites. This is some times annoying or can be used for malicious purposes by redirecting you to a malicious site.
