Internet Off Helps You Stop Wasting Time Online

Have you a constant habit of going on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or browsing the web for an exceptionally long amount of time? Does it always prevent you from completing your important tasks? Then here is how to automatically turn off your internet connection at preset time or turn it off completely with a click.

Internet Off is a little application for Windows that lets you quickly turn off your internet connection from the system tray and when in need, you can enable the internet easily for some period (and it will be automatically turned off) or permanently in just two clicks.

Install InternetOff and it’ll sit on your system tray. To turn off the internet, just click its icon, choose “Turn off the internet”. To turn on, click the tray icon again, choose “Turn on the internet” and choose “Just turn on” option or preset time.

The advantage of this tool is that it lets you quickly turn off (and on) your internet connection from system tray. When you go offline all those distractions disappear. There's no Twitter, no chat, no web, only you and your tasks.

InternetOff can be downloaded from developer’s site here. It supports Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 (both 32 and 64bit)

Firefox: Go to Tools - Options - Advanced - General - Accessibility and tick the option next to ‘Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page’. Alternatively you can use extension RefreshBlocker . Opera: Go to Preferences - Advanced - Network and uncheck "Enable automatic redirection".
