Even though Windows Vista has built in Updates downloader, it lacks from many features. For example it won’t allow user to save updates files for future use or modify these updates files as per their requirement and has no provision for downloading Vista extras and other add-ons.

Vista Updates Downloader toolkit is a free application that allows downloading post-SP1 Updates, Ultimate Extras, Language packs and other Update Packs. This free program downloads updates directly from Microsoft and provides several other features over default Vista Updater.
