Shredder Alfa 3 (Thunderbird 3) released

The next major version ofThunderbird - the popular mail client and news reader and open-source multi-platform application from Mozilla, is released its third Alpha preview of Thunderbird 3, code named 'Shredder' intending for testing purpose.

There were over 250 changes in this release, many laying the groundwork for future changes. Some notable changes include: improved message reader view, add/edit contacts from the Message Header, integrated Vista search, birthday field in address book, automatic message download in IMAP, etc.
