Safely preview link without clicking or leaving the current page

By clicking an unknown link to open the site in your browser is likely a security risk. For example, most of the URL posted on the popular micro blogging service Twitter is shortened by services like Tinyurl in order to limit the post size. You do not know where will be taken if you will click the link. Therefore you might want to preview the link.

Here is a browser add-on, Hhott View, (for Internet Explore and Firefox ) that lets you safely preview links and rich media without clicking or leaving your current page.

You only need to just mouse over the link to preview. Moreover, it also displays safety rating on each link using Google APIs.

HHOTT View's unique features are:
1. Display safety rating on each link to support secure and safe browsing
2. Preview window is a full-featured browser window, not just a small static screen shot
3. Preview window can be placed anywhere within or outside of the web page; in the main monitor or the second monitor
4. Separate preview window for each browser window or browser tab to keep the browsing context and tab browsing friendly
5. Preview links anywhere on the web page including the ones in iframes

I am not claiming that this add-on will give protection against internet threats, but you can use this free tool to preview a link without clicking it. It is quite faster than viewing then on your default browser.

HHOTT View currently in beta and is incompatible with Firefox 3.5. It perfectly works with Internet Explorer 6 – 8. The application is clean and you can download it from hhott.com.

Restore Lost Capacity Of Your USB Flash Drive (How to)

Some malware can hide full capacity of your USB flash drive. For example, a 4GB pen drive sometimes shows only 500kb or less. An interesting part of this situation is that, even after removing the malware or formatting the USB flash drive, you will not get back its original capacity. Therefore, the question here is how to restore a USB flash drive to its full capacity.
