Microsoft Office Web Apps Browser Plugin For Firefox

As you all know, Microsoft Office Web Apps is a ‘web version’ of Microsoft Office suite, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. With Web Apps, you can create and edit documents online, access them directly from anywhere within a browser, share and collaborate with other users online. The Office Web Apps Browser Plug-in allows you open documents directly from Firefox into desktop office application.

This plug-in is destined for Office 2007 and 2003 users (Microsoft Office 2010 users don’t need this plugin). As I said above, with this plug-in you can open any office file (Word, Excel, Power Point, and One Note) directly into appropriate desktop Office app.

For example, when you clicking ‘Open in Word’ option from the Office Web App, the document will open in Word 2003 or Word 2007 (also in Word 2010). When the document is saved in Word, it is saved back at the web location where it was opened.

Web Apps Browser Plug-in can be downloaded from Microsoft website. After downloading the exe file, install it and restart your computer. It supports Firefox 3.5 and above.

Therefore, the question here is how to restore a USB flash drive to its full capacity.

Disable automatic Meta refresh/redirect of websites in browser for security reasons[how to]

Generally speaking, Meta refresh is a method used by some websites to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh/redirect the current web page after a given time interval. You can see this type of refresh/redirect especially in media sites. This is some times annoying or can be used for malicious purposes by redirecting you to a malicious site. If you don’t like this feature, you can disable this in your browser. Here is how to disable this in Internet Explore/Chrome, Firefox and Opera. Internet Explorer: Go to Tools - Internet options - Security tab - Custom Level button - Miscellaneous category - set "Allow Meta refresh" to Disable. Firefox: Go to Tools - Options - Advanced - General - Accessibility and tick the option next to ‘Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page’. Alternatively you can use extension RefreshBlocker . Opera: Go to Preferences - Advanced - Network and uncheck "Enable automatic redirection".
