Audacity 2.0 Released (Free Digital Audio Editor And Podcasting Application)

The popular open source, free digital audio editor and podcasting application Audacity has updated to version 2.0 with new and enhanced features. Audacity 2.0 is comes with all the essential effects and features loaded and it can edit all the most popular audio formats.

It has multi-track interface that lets you mix tracks to create your own version of music. And most importantly, it is very easy to use and beginners will have no trouble getting used to it.


Following are some of the new features of Audacity 2.0:

Many effects significantly improved, especially Equalization, Noise Removal and Normalize. Vocal Remover now included plus GVerb on Windows and Mac. VAMP analysis plug-ins now supported.

Improved label tracks with Sync-Lock Tracks feature in the Tracks Menu. Multiple clips per track. Tracks and selections can be fully manipulated using the keyboard. Many more keyboard shortcuts.

New Device Toolbar to manage inputs and outputs. Timer Record feature. New Mixer Board view with per-track VU meters.

Automatic Crash Recovery in the event of abnormal program termination.

Fast “On-Demand” import of WAV/AIFF files if read directly from source. FLAC now fully supported. Added support for optional FFmpeg library for import/export of AC3/M4A/WMA and import of audio from video files.

Disable automatic Meta refresh/redirect of websites in browser for security reasons[how to]

Generally speaking, Meta refresh is a method used by some websites to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh/redirect the current web page after a given time interval. You can see this type of refresh/redirect especially in media sites. This is some times annoying or can be used for malicious purposes by redirecting you to a malicious site.
