How to Disable AVG Accelerator for YouTube Video

Besides the usual PC protection, the new AVG Internet Security 2012 comes bundled with several new features like intelligent Link Scanner, AVG Accelerator for YouTube video, behavior monitoring, and more. The new AVG Accelerator is designed to reduce the buffering time of YouTube video on slow internet connection, however, some users find this feature actually hold back or slow down their video playback. Here is how to fix it.

If you find your AVG Internet Security 2012 hold back YouTube video, the only solution is to disable AVG Accelerator. AVG Accelerator is enabled by default, so just follow below steps to disable AVG Accelerator.


Step 1: Open the AVG User Interface.

Step 2: On the Tools menu, click Advanced settings.

Step 3: On the left pane expand LinkScanner and then click Online Shield.


Step 4: Uncheck Enable AVG Accelerator shown on the right pane. Finally, restart your browser.
