One of the most noticeable interface tweaks in Windows 8 is the proliferation of ribbon menus through Windows Explorer. The ribbon interface adds a host of new buttons to the Windows Explorer menu, which makes it quite easy to navigate. Ribbon Icons Customizer is standalone application from TWC that will let you change almost all icons on the Windows 8 explorer ribbon menu.

The app is quite simple to use. Here is how it is. Download and unzip the file. From the RIC folder, first run the Resources.reg (for taking ownership of some registry keys) and then run the Ribbon Icons Customizer .exe file as administrator.


Now, click on the desired button and browse to the icon on your computer that you want to replace it with (The app doesn’t contain any icon file, so you can download icons from here).

 In the first tab, you can click the respective button of icon, which you want to change. For example, if you want to change the icon of copy, click “Change ‘Copy’ Icon”. Select the desired icon from the dialog box and click ‘Open’ to change the icon. Once the icon is changed, you will see a message ‘Successfully changed’. Restart your explorer to see the changes.
