Mac OSX Yosemite Notification Center for Windows 7 and Windows 8

Notification Center is not a new feature of Mac OSX, but it has been revamped in the latest OSX Yosemite with more useful features. Now it look like iOS 8’s Notification Center and give users a quick view of what’s going on today. You can bring the same feature to your Windows PC. Here is how it is.

With ‘Yosemite OSX Notification Center’ application you can bring Mac OSX Yosemite’s Notification Center on your Windows 8, 7, Vista and XP PCs. The below guide lets you know how to install it in your Windows 7 PC.

1. Download the app from here (10 MB) and extract the file. Choose correct version for your Windows.

2. Inside there is a folder named Avedesk 1.3

3. Copy and paste the folder to your program files

4. After this open the folder Avedesk1.3

5. You will find a batch file named “register”. Click it for stability reasons.

6. There is also a file named “unregister” to make this undone.

7. Now right click the Avedesk exe and select “Run as administrator”

8. Avedesk will start with the default theme for the very first time.

9. Right click one of the desklets and select “Show control panel”(of Avedesk)

10. Click on “File” and select “Exit” in the dropdown menu.

11. Go back to your Sidebar folder on your desktop. There is a folder named “Themes”. Rightclick it and select “Copy”

12. Now go to your “App data” folder.(enable “Show hidden files and folders” option)

13. Go to C -> users (your name) -> AppData -> Roaming. Locate a folder named “Avedesk”.

14. Open it and delete the “Themes” folder. Now paste the “Themes” folder you’ve copied before into the folder. Restart the Avedesk exe and you are done.
