SecureTwitter is part of SecureBrowsing, a free security extension for your browser (Firefox and Internet Explorer) that scans and classifies web addresses to provide you with safety rating of URLs before you visit them.

Unlike other similar products, Finjan’s SecureBrowsing scans each URL as it currently exists on the web, each time the address is displayed in your browser. It proactively alerts you to potentially malicious web addresses in links of search results, ads and other selected web pages.

1. Run Firefox browser. In the search bar type abou:config and hit enter, accept the warning message.

2. In the filter text field type gfx.color_management.enabled (see screen shot).

3. By default the value display as false. Double click on it to change the value to true and to enable high definition color profile.

4. To undo this effect, simply follow the same steps and double click on it to change the value to false (disable color management).

This is especially useful for graphic designers or any other who like to see an image at the best possible quality through their favorite browser Firefox.

If for some reasons you don’t want to disclose these data, you need to make sure that no such information is saved with in the picture files. Here is a freeware tool jStrip that could delete these data very quickly and reliably.

Download jStrip (1.28Mb) from here and unzip it. Install the program by clicking jStrip setup exe (The program supports all Windows Versions (Windows 95 – Vista 32bit). After starting the program open the configuration settings from File – Options.

1. Select ‘General’ tab and activate ‘Clear read-only bit’ to remove write protection of files.

2. Select ‘File Selection’ tab and activate ‘Select files’ option. This is useful, if you want to remove information from a single photo.

3. Select ‘JPEG’ tab and activate all options. These setting ensure the deletion of all data including ICC color profiles and other extra data of programs like Photoshop.

4. Confirm the settings by clicking ‘OK’ button.

Now select photos (an individual photo or a folder that contain photos) and click ‘Start’ to delete all personal information.

This tool also reduces the file size of JPEG images without sacrificing image quality. jStrip does not re-compress an image, so there is no image quality loss.

To use this free tool, just download and unzip it and install it (Required Microsoft .net Framework 3.5). All prerequisites will be installed automatically during the setup.

This tool is fully integrated in Word 2007 within the View tab. To use this tool, go to View – Auto History – Setting. Select a previous version that you want to restore from the dialogue box and click on ‘recover selected file’ to restore it.

The OpenXML Document Viewer team has created a browser plug-in for converting Word document (.DOCX) into HTML format so that it can be viewed on a browser. As DOCX format is basically an extended XML format, it can be easily converted to HTML format.

The current release supports Internet Explorer 7, IE 8, Opera 9.62, Firefox 3.browsers on the Windows OS (XP, Vista and above) and Opera 9.62 and Firefox 3 on Linux .

The multilingual software (English, Chinese, German, French, Italian, and Japanese) is quite easy to use, just install, and run it. Select a document for reading or printing (editing is not supported). You can also increase or decrease the font size for convenient viewing.

There is also a ‘Full screen mode’ option, but I think there is a minor bug in it. In full screen mode the program crashes and takes long time to come back in normal mode (when pressing Esc key).
