Android 1.0 SDK download available for developers

The Android platform is a software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications. Developers can create applications for the platform using the Android SDK.

Applications are written using the Java programming language and run on Dalvik, a custom virtual machine designed for embedded use, which runs on top of a Linux kernel.

The main objective of the release of this new development environment is to try to provide a stable platform for developers, which will see the beginning of the Android Market on October 22 2008.

Major improvements to the package, compared to version 0.9, are related some bugs resolved and inclusion of some API. Going on the Android developer's blog, you can already see some applications ready for commercialization, such as Panoramio and Photostream.

TinySpell is a small utility that provides a spell checking like functionality in any windows applications. This utility is useful, especially with Notepad or web browser where typing is occasionally needed.

TinySpell (freeware) can watch your typing on the fly and alert you whenever it detects a misspelled word. It can also check the spelling of text you copy to the clipboard.

After installation you’ll see a small icon in the system tray. Normally the icon is white but it turns to yellow when a misspelled word is detected. You can set tinySpell to insert the selected word into your document or copy it to the clipboard (or both). tinySpell comes with an American-English dictionary containing more than 110,000 words.

CrossOver Chromium – Open source browser for Linux and OS X

CrossOver Chromium is a Mac and Linux port of the open source Chromium web browser and it does not require a Windows installation to run.

How to reorder buttons in Windows taskbar?

While using computer most people are always have more than one task in the taskbar at a time, such as Windows Explorer, Firefox, documents, etc. But we can’t change its position to suite our convenience. Windows doesn’t allow this (by default).

In Windows many helpful settings can be made only by using the registry editor, but the process of navigating through the registry to find individual keys is very laborious. RegEditX is a freeware program which makes your registry editing more productive than ever.

Free Virus removal tool to detect and remove specific viruses from your computer

Virus removal tools are not a substitute for full anti-virus protection, but rather a tool to remove a particular virus (malware, spyware, rootkit, etc) from your computer. This is especially useful, for example if you're running other antivirus software but still suspect your computer is infected, you can download and use any of these virus removal tools for free.
If you suspect that your computer is infected by a virus and your security software is not able detect and remove it, just scan your computer using any of these free online scanners (see my previous post), then remove using any of the free tools described below.

Microsoft Virtual lab is providing a free test-drive of Windows Vista Ultimate SP1, the latest operating system from Microsoft without having to install it on your PC. You needn’t install anything, just use your browser and enjoy all features of Vista.
The Windows Vista version hosted in the test drive contains most of the functionality of the regular versions, but browsing the internet is not enabled. The test drive requires Internet Explorer 6 or later, a browser plug-in, and a broadband Internet connection.

How to remove line breaks when copying text from PDF file?

When copying text from an Adobe PDF file to a word processor, you might have noticed that the text you pasted have line breaks as in the original PDF document. This is inconvenient (at least for me), especially if it is a large document, because we need to manually edit this text to remove the line breaks.
Here is a tiny program to easy this task. AutoUnbreak is a portable application (22Kb in size, no installation required) that can remove line breaks from formatted (or plain) text input. This is useful if you want to reformat a text document, where lines have been cut short. AutoUnbreak will only take input from the clipboard, it will not load any files and you can unbreak a maximum of 65500 characters at a time. (Via – ghacks)
